During day four of the event, Joe Biden is formally accepted the presidential nomination to go up against current Republican President Donald Trump in the upcoming November U.S. presidential election.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, former mayor of Southbend, Ind. Pete Buttigieg and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden were among the speakers who took the stage virtually on Thursday in the fourth day of the Democratic National Convention.

During his speech, Biden said that the first thing he would do if elected U.S. president in the fall would be to "get control" of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

The convention, taking place Monday to Thursday virtually this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, is coming just three months before the U.S. presidential elections and will see the unveiling of presidential candidate Joe Biden's vision for the modern Democratic Party.
