CA, 03 Nov 2021
U.S. President Joe Biden said Tuesday that the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow must start a "decisive decade of action" on climate change. He said the country would deliver the goal of reducing emissions by 52 per cent from 2005 levels by 2030.
Biden made the comments during a media availability held at the end of the leaders' summit during COP26.
During the climate conference, the U.S. was among more than 100 countries that promised to cut methane emissions and to protect Earth's forests, with the commitment from leaders representing more than 85 per cent of the world's forests to halt and reverse deforestation by 2030.
The president also commented briefly on the governor's race in Virginia, with the Democrats in a tight race against the Republicans in what some are considering a health check on Biden's first year as president. Biden told reporters he was confident that "we're gonna win."
