MSM at its finest | NYT tries to ‘debunk’ RT’s ‘fake’ with… FAKE NEWS

RT, 13 Aug 2020
The New York Times has taken a swipe at RT’s video news agency Ruptly for spreading disinformation about the Portland protests – with its own disinformation.

When Ruptly released footage of protesters burning a Bible and an American flag in Portland, it did so with a very matter-of-fact description. The footage then went viral. The New York Post and CBS affiliate KOIN also covered the story.

NYT article accused Ruptly of amplifying the video to create anti-BLM sentiment. However, it wasn’t those pesky Russians who sent it viral but the American right, who turned one Bible into ‘stacks of bibles’ (a miracle not featured in the good book) to suit their agenda – and let social media do the rest.

Whether you think the burning of a Bible and a flag is newsworthy or not, it was at least accurate – which is more than can be said for the NYT article. We’ve included the footage with this post so you can decide for yourselves
