Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong is urging a global boycott of Disney’s Mulan. The movie became embroiled in controversy after lead actress Liu Yifei last year voiced support for the Hong Kong Police Force, who has been accused of being heavy-handed against pro-democracy protesters.

The live-action remake is facing fresh boycott calls as it emerged that some scenes were filmed in Xinjiang, where widespread human rights abuses against the region's Muslim population have been documented.
