Safari park welcomes easing of lockdown restrictions

Knowsley Safari Park has welcomed the news that the government are expected to announce that zoos, safari parks and drive-in cinemas can reopen in England from June 15 as part of the latest easing of lockdown measures.
After being closed for nearly three months, staff members at Knowsley Safari Park said the need to keep the animals well cared for meant their costs had continued to mount.
The threat of closure loomed due to continued costs and the absence of income from visitors.
