'We send you Marmite, you send us Vegemite' say Boris Johnson as UK-Australia free trade talks begin
Telegraph, 17 Jun 2020
The UK and Australia are to begin trade negotiations, as Britain looks towards a future outside the European Union.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson took to social media to share his excitement at the possibility of a world "in which we send you Marmite, you send us Vegemite".
Picking up a packet of TimTams, the prime minister added "How long can the British people be deprived of the opportunity to have Arnott's Tim Tams at a reasonable price"?
Mr Johnson said he wants to "get this free trade agreement done" to bring Australia and the UK "closer together than ever before".
