Protesters kettled by police in George Square in Glasgow

Telegraph, 20 Jun 2020
Protesters have been kettled by police in George Square in Glasgow.

The demonstrators were from the Green Brigade, linked to Celtic ultras.

Anti-racism protesters outside the cordon could be heard chanting: "Let them go."

Authorities had called on the public not to gather at the location.

Some protesters had gathered to attend the Glasgow Says No to Racism event, who’s aim was to send a “positive anti-racist message from Glasgow's George Square to the world on World Refugee Day".

Other arrivals included members of the Green Brigade.

Police horses and riot officers were used to control their arrival in the square.

When the event ended around noon they were kettled before being moved through the city, controlled by police horses and scores of officers.
