Malian jihadist police chief on trial at ICC over Timbuktu destruction

A Malian jihadist police chief appear in court in the Hague accused of overseeing 'unimaginable crimes' in Timbuktu in 2012. Al Hassan's been charged with war crimes by the International Criminal Court. In North Darfur State, several people are reportedly killed by the feared Janjaweed militia after unrest breaks out, following recent protests calling for better governance and security. And we hear from members of a female-led collective in Togo who pioneer intensive technique in their rice cultivation. The project's given participants independence and a better quality of life.
