Boris Johnson promises £1,000 for 'wet pubs' hit by lockdown restrictions
Telegraph, 01 Dec 2020
Boris Johnson made a pledge to the hospitality industry, which he is hoping will convince reluctant MPs to back the Tiers today.
He says there will be a one-off payment in December of £1,000 to “wet” pubs - pubs that do not serve food, and which are having to close in Tiers 2 and 3.
This is in recognition of how hard they have been hit in what is normally "their busiest month".
