Cheers of celebration could be heard as a man was rescued from a muddy trench in the flood-ravaged Chamoli district, northern India. Rescuers were searching for survivors after a Himalayan glacier broke and swept away a small hydroelectric dam, with floods forcing the evacuation of villages downstream.
