House Republicans opted against reprimanding newcomer Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has a record of embracing extremist views and conspiracy theories, and who will face a vote that could strip her of her committee assignments on Thursday. In a closed-door meeting, Republicans said Greene denounced her previous remarks and claim they were said prior to her election. The party also voted on keeping Liz Cheney, the third-most powerful Republican in the House of Representatives, in her leadership post after far-right conservatives moved to oust her as payback for her vote to impeach Donald Trump
