International aid agencies partially resume work in Afghanistan after Taliban assurances

In Afghanistan, some international aid organisations have partially restored work in the country after receiving assurances from the Taliban that women can work in some sectors.
The International Rescue Committee and CARE are two of those that have resumed programmes in health and nutrition.
The Taliban had banned women from working for non-governmental organisations and said female staff had broken dress codes by not wearing hijabs.
