With China-U.S. relations at a very low ebb, it would be helpful to step back and heed the advice of a veteran who plays a direct role in improving the relations between the two countries since the 1970s. In the Hub with Wang Guan, Stephen Orlins, President of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, laments the present state of the bilateral ties and calls for more dialogue and mutual understanding. He states that both Americans and Chinese will benefit from a good China-U.S. relationship. He calls on both countries to start a virtuous cycle and improve the lives of ordinary people.
