Richard Sharp resigns as BBC chairman

Richard Sharp has resigned as BBC chairman after conceding an official report finds he breached the rules for public appointments.
A report by barrister Adam Heppinstall KC was published this morning which looked at Mr Sharp’s appointment and his involvement in facilitating an £800,000 loan to Boris Johnson.
In a statement, Mr Sharp said he was quitting to "prioritise the interests" of the broadcaster.
