An evacuation order was issued Sunday night for Chipewyan Lake, a small community in northern Alberta approximately 128 kilometres west of Fort McMurray.

People are being told to leave their homes immediately and bring everything they will need for the next seven days.

Across the province 89 wildfires are currently burning, with 23 fires listed as “out of control.”

Michael King provides an update on the wildfire situation in Alberta, and explains why Albertans who are taking firefighting efforts into their own hands are causing some concern for officials.
