Coronavirus: Alberta officials deliver COVID-19 update | LIVE
CA, 30 Dec 2020
Alberta's chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw is expected to deliver an update on the COVID-19 situation in the province on Tuesday.
As of 10:22 a.m. MT, Alberta had a total of 98, 269 cases of COVID-19 and 1,002 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Last week, Hinshaw used her final media availability before Christmas to plead to Albertans to follow provincial restrictions, while also wishing all residents the best over the holiday season.
Hinshaw also discussed Health Canada’s approval of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and continued rollout of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine. While it is positive news, Hinshaw does not expect the province to receive the new vaccine within the next couple of days as it continues to work with the federal government on procurement.
