Turkish rescuers have saved a 17-year-old woman from the rubble of a collapsed building after she was trapped for 248 hours.

Rescued on Thursday in Kahramanmaras province, Aleyna Olmez "looked to be in good health...she opened and closed her eyes," according to coal miner Ali Akdogan, who took part in the rescue effort.

"We have been working here in this building for a week now...we came here with the hope of hearing sounds," the miner told AFP news agency. "We are happy whenever we find a living thing, even a cat."
