Millions of Americans remain under threat as a severe storm system makes its way across the country.

In Oklahoma and Kansas, strong winds and tornadoes caused extensive damage. At least 12 people were injured, when a twister struck Norman, Oklahoma, overnight, but no deaths have been reported as of this writing.

"I was sitting on my couch my power went out. Within five minutes of the power going out we heard two large thumps and the moment we heard that my daughter covered her head and the back window busted out behind her head of her bed," Norman, Oklahoma resident Chelsea Riley told CBS News.

Footage shared on Twitter showed lightning and fast-moving cloud rotation near the town of Sublette, KS on Sunday.
