CrossFit is a branded fitness regimen that has survived its early days of being maligned as dangerous and “cult like”. Started in 2000 in a garage in the city of Santa Cruz, California, the US company has grown into an empire of gyms or “boxes” in more than 150 countries around the world and its flagship event the CrossFit Games.
