A boat designed to collect ocean waste took to the water for the first time off the shore of the Indonesian island of Bali on March 21, 2023. The launch of the Mobula 8 marked the start of a mission to combat marine plastic pollution in the popular tourist destination. According to SeaCleaners, the NGO behind the project, the Mobula 8 is capable of clearing solid debris, micro waste and oil spills.
