UK health workers pay: NHS workers demand appropriate rise

British healthcare workers are warning that there may be industrial action and have threatened to quit over a proposed 1 percent pay rise.
Ministers say its coronavirus-battered economy cannot afford much more than that but this backtracks on an earlier promise of a minimum 2.1 percent increment
But after a year in which nurses and doctors have been hailed as heroes for battling the COVID-19 pandemic, the public has also taken umbrage at the offer.
