Trudeau announces Pfizer to advance delivery of 5M COVID-19 vaccine doses to June | FULL

CA, 31 Mar 2021
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to hold a COVID-19 briefing on Monday and will discuss the ongoing government response to the pandemic as well as the vaccine rollout.

Trudeau will be joined by Minister of Public Services and Procurement Anita Anand, Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Dr. Theresa Tam, and Deputy Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Dr. Howard Njoo.

As COVID-19 vaccine supplies ramp up across the country, most provinces and territories have released details of who can expect to receive a shot in the coming weeks.

The military commander handling logistics for Canada’s vaccine distribution program, Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin, says there will be enough vaccine delivered to give the first dose before Canada Day to every adult who wants one.

Health Canada anticipates a total of 36.5 million doses from Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and the AstraZeneca vaccine from the Serum Institute of India by June 30.
