Watch how wall of smoke engulfs California homes in Crowley Lake
Telegraph, 14 Sep 2020
A timelapse video filmed by a local resident of Crowley Lake, California, shows a blanket of smoke brought by fires in nearby Creek Fire rolling into the town.
Brian Herman, who filmed the timelapse, said the area had experienced several days of clear skies before the smoke blew in from Creek Fire on Sunday, just 35 kilometres east.
As of Sunday morning, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CalFire) reported Creek Fire had burnt about 202,000 acres, with only eight per cent of them contained.
Nearly 17,000 firefighters were battling 29 major wildfires on Sunday, CalFire added.
