A sixth night of protests took place in Rochester, N.Y. in response to the death of Daniel Prude, a 41-year-old Black man who died in March, days after an encounter with police in which they put a "spit hood" over his head and forced him to the pavement for more than two minutes. The protests ended peacefully hours after police declared it an unlawful assembly.

The rally began at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park, with some marching to the Public Safety Building.

A standoff took place after the unlawful assembly declaration was made, but protesters remained, many chanting. It was early Tuesday morning that rally-goers dispersed in large groups a few hours after the standoff.
