Coronavirus: Alberta records 1,566 new cases as Hinshaw asks for compassion over holidays | LIVE

Alberta identified 1,566 new cases of COVID-19, and recorded 13 additional deaths on Thursday.

Alberta's chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw began her daily COVID-19 update on Thursday to address reports of stigmatisation of ethic or certain community groups and healthcare workers.

Hinshaw also asked Albertans to share they way they are positvely and safely celebrating the holidays by sharing their stories to social media with the hashtag #albertacares.
