House Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused the White House on Thursday of “putting on a con” when it stated that intelligence accusing Russia of offering bounties on U.S. troop was “unverified,” and that it didn’t meet the level where it needed to be brought to President Donald Trump.

Trump has insisted he wasn’t briefed on the intelligence because it didn’t rise to his level and even went so far as to suggest in a tweet that he believed it may be a hoax.

But Pelosi said during her weekly briefing on Thursday that the information should have risen to the president’s level as it involves “the security and safety of our men and women in uniform.”

“We would practically be investigating nothing if you had to start off at 100 per cent,” she added.
