Coronavirus: British PM Boris Johnson addresses government's response to COVID-19 | LIVE
CA, 03 Jul 2020
U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to deliver remarks Friday as the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic continues to impact the United Kingdom and nations across the globe.
His remarks come as the British government has announced it is scrapping a 14-day quarantine rule for arrivals from a number countries considered to be at "lower risk" for the coronavirus, including France, Spain, Germany and Italy.
The change comes into effect on July 10, just over a month after the U.K. began requiring international arrivals to self-isolate for two weeks.
It is considered unlikely that the United States, which has the highest number of coronavirus cases and deaths in the world will be among those countries exempted from the order.
On Saturday, the U.K. government is also expected to exempt several countries from its advice against overseas Travel, allowing U.K. tourists to once again travel abroad on vacation.
