British Columbia's Health Minister Adrian Dix and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry provided an update on COVID-19 in the province, with 294 new cases reported over the weekend and four new deaths.

The province reported 86 new cases from Friday to Saturday, 107 from Saturday to Sunday and 101 in the past 24 hours.

Henry warned that the province needed to work to "flatten our curve again," saying that colder weather could bring a new wave of COVID-19, or it could bring an epidemic of influenza.

The province's top doctor also urged British Columbians to be more cautious as the seasons change, describing the current situation as the "messy middle" of the pandemic.

There are 5,790 confirmed cases of the disease in B.C. and 208 deaths.
