The COVID-19 vaccine developed by China's Sinovac Biotech is rolling off a Brazilian production line. Sao Paulo Governor Joao Doria said the state's biomedical center aims to produce one million doses a day starting January 25. Doria added that 11 Brazilian states are seeking the CoronaVac vaccine. This sets up a showdown with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who has refused to buy the vaccine for a national immunization program. A number of Latin American countries including Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Honduras have expressed interest in the Chinese vaccine.
