Ahmaud Arbery's father says "it's been a hard road" since death of son, in speech at D.C. rally
CA, 29 Aug 2020
Marcus Arbery Sr., the father of Ahmaud Arbery, said Friday during a speech at the March on Washington that it's "been a hard road" since the death of his son.
Arbery was shot to death by two white men while jogging in Glynn County, Georgia, in February 2020.
Arbery Sr. said he has trouble believing his son is gone, but that he and his family would continue fighting for his son and others who've lost their lives as a result of racial violence.
Arbery Sr. spoke as on the 57th anniversary of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic “I Have a Dream” address at the Lincoln Memorial, where the families of Black Americans shot or killed by police officers made speeches before marching to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.
Thousands of activists who attended the rally called for criminal justice and racial equality.
