Boris Johnson says it's 'absurd and wrong' that Winston Churchill statue is at risk of attack

Telegraph, 12 Jun 2020
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said it is "absurd and wrong" that the statue of Winston Churchill in Parliament Square is at risk of "violent attack".

The prime minister's comments come after the statue was boarded up ahead of another weekend of anti-racist protests in London.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan says he took the decision to cover the statue of the former prime minister to ensure it is protected during demonstrations.
