Rishi Sunak has said the Covid-hit hospitality industry already has support in place, as firms mount pressure on the Chancellor for greater support amid the omicron wave.

In a remote interview from the United States, the Chancellor said: "the good news, I would say, is that there is existing support measures in place to help the industry, for example, until spring of next year, most businesses in the hospitality industry are only paying a quarter of their normal business rates bill."
