Huge fires have engulfed forests in southern Turkey, leaving three people confirmed dead and over 100 people evacuated from their homes.

It’s thought that hot weather combined with strong winds causes the fires to erupt, and the flames have since spread in and around the resort city of Antalya.

Firefighting efforts are ongoing, and the rescue effort includes a fleet of 19 helicopters, a drone and over 900 personnel.

Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said ‘several homes, offices, farms, agricultural fields, greenhouses, and vehicles have been damaged by fire’.
