Boom time for Afghan arms dealers in Taliban heartland
AFP, 06 Sep 2021
Local Afghan arms dealer Khan Mohammad displays an array of weapons for sale, as his shop in the Panjwai district of southern Kandahar is flooded with arms due to long time gun owners concluding they no longer need them, thanks to the end of the conflict. Mohammed's stock includes US-made assault rifles including M4s and M16s, machine guns, ammunition belts and accessories, which he says he also buys and sells to the Taliban.
