U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday described as a "hoax and political witch hunt" two U.S. Supreme Court rulings concerning his financial records.

"It's a pure witch hunt. It's a hoax. Just like the Mueller investigation was a hoax that I won," Trump told reporters at the White House.

The Supreme Court ruled that a New York prosecutor can get Trump's financial records, but prevented, at least for now, the Democratic-led House of Representatives from obtaining similar documents.

That case will continue in lower courts.
