Coronavirus: Trudeau to address WE Charity controversy, Canada's COVID-19 response | LIVE

CA, 13 Jul 2020
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to provide an update on how the country is tackling the COVID-19 pandemic on Monday.

The update comes less than a week after the Trudeau government released what they styled as a fiscal and economic snapshot, which projected a $343 billion deficit amid the "uncertainty" of the ongoing pandemic.

The prime minister is also expected to face more questions over the ongoing controversy surrounding the now-cancelled contract with WE Charity, following the Conservatives announcing it had sent a letter to the RCMP to consider an investigation. That call came after news that both Trudeau's mother, Margaret, and brother Alexandre were both paid to speak at WE Charity events.
