Trump administration fights same-sex adoption case

CA, 15 Jun 2020
In 2018, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania ended a contract with a state-funded religious adoption agency that barred requests from same sex couples.

The city said it was discriminatory, but the agency argues it would violate its beliefs and the case is now before the U.S. Supreme Court. The court is expected to hear the case in October, though it's not known when a ruling will be given.

As Reggie Cecchini explains, the Trump administration is now weighing in on the case which has some same-sex couples concerned a defence of religious liberties could come at the expense of starting or growing their family.
