Everest climbs are continuing as normal despite reports of a Covid-19 outbreak at base camp, a Nepali official said on May 24, 2021. Expedition guide Lukas Furtenbach said at least 100 people have been infected with the coronavirus and that he had been forced to evacuate his team from the mountain this month.
