The National Development and Reform Commission said it's halting talks under the strategic economic dialogue framework in response to recent actions taken by Australia that reflect a Cold War mindset and ideological discrimination. Australia said it's disappointed by the suspension of talks. At a Chinese Foreign Ministry press conference on Thursday, a spokesperson was asked if the decision was in retaliation to Australia's cancellation of a Belt and Road agreement with the government of Victoria.
