Telegraph restaurant critic William Sitwell got his wish of eating out again as he dined at Stanley's in Chelsea on the day restaurants reopened for outdoor meals.

He reported that even paying the bill was fun as he enjoyed other simple pleasures - looking at a menu, ordering food and waiving frantically at a waiter.
