Nissan's £1bn 'gigafactory' to create 1,650 jobs in Sunderland

The Japanese car manufacturer Nissan has announced plans to build a new battery "gigafactory" that will create 1,650 jobs in Sunderland - 6,200 overall if you include suppliers.

It will enable the car plant to massively increase production of electric vehicles.
