First secretary of Bageqi Village: We finally gained trust from them

Bageqi Village, in Moyu County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was identified as one of the most poverty-stricken villages back in 2014. By 2018, 277 households with 1,001 residents in the village had been lifted out of poverty. We met Umarjan Mamat, the first secretary of the village's CPC branch, who shared with us the story of the man-made fortune from a special breed of sheep.
