Gaza Pepsi factory shuts over shortages amid Israeli border curbs

Al Jazeera, 22 Jun 2021
A major soft drinks company in Gaza has stopped production and sent home 250 employees.
Gaza's Pepsi Co. bottling factory was forced to halt operations this week because of a shortage of raw materials due to Israeli import restrictions.
The job losses come at a critical time for the region as it tries to rebuild after Israel’s recent bombing campaign.
Gaza has two borders, but most goods come from the one which is controlled by Israel and has been closed for nearly a month.
In total, 90 percent of Gaza's factories have closed, terminating more than 85,000 workers.
