Some residents of Kharkiv are remaining in the city, despite the extensive damage caused to residential buildings. People have continued to live there and cook in the streets as the buildings have neither water nor electricity.

The mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov has said that about 20% of the city's residential buildings have been damaged beyond repair.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people arrived into Kharkiv on Friday after being evacuated from the nearby village of Ruska Lozova, which was under Russian occupation for more than a month.
