Bulgaria’s president urges PM to resign as protests grow
Al Jazeera, 03 Sep 2020
Bulgaria’s president Rumen Radev on Wednesday called on the government to step down, echoing the demands of protesters demanding the resignations of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and his cabinet over allegations they allowed an oligarchic mafia to seize control of the Balkan country.
Thousands protested outside parliament on Wednesday, in one of the biggest rallies in almost two months.
But the prime minister is trying to keep his job until elections in March.
