Poverty on rise in France as pandemic devastates economy

Poverty is on the rise in France, with the pandemic devastated the country’s economy, and up to 800,000 people expected to lose their jobs in 2020. The charity Secours Populaire says 1.27 million people asked for help during the lockdown from March to May, with 45 percent new to the organisation.
