King Charles has been greeted with cheers as he met members of the public waiting to enter Westminster Hall where the Queen's lying in state is taking place.

Shaking hands with crowds of mourners, the monarch thanked those in the queue - some of whom had waited more than 24 hours to pay their respects - for taking the time to attend.
