U.S. former vice-president and current Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden made on Wednesday his first joint appearance with his running mate Kamala Harris in Wilmington, Del.
Biden described Harris as “smart, tough, experienced, and a proven fighter for the country’s middle class,” during his speech when he first introduced her.

He said they both are ready to get to work on day one to “fix president Trump’s mess” through four years of “cuddling terrorists and thugs around the world,” according to Biden.

The Democratic presidential candidate criticized Donald Trump’s administration's response to COVID-19 and said he and Kamala Harris would have a science-based plan to get the pandemic under control.

If elected, Harris would be the first woman in American history to serve as vice-president, the second highest office in the country, Biden added.

He said that by choosing Harris as his running mate, little Black and Brown girls would “see themselves for the first time in a new way.”

Biden made the announcement on his choice of running mate on Tuesday and made the first joint appearance with Harris on Wednesday, saying all the women he spoke to during the selection process were “qualified and impressive.”
