One man is dead and 11 people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting in Minneapolis, MN police said early Sunday. A preliminary police investigation indicated that “individuals on foot” started shooting around 12:30 a.m. and later fled the scene.

The area where the shooting occurred is about 5 kilometres west of the Minneapolis commercial area and neighbourhood hit by protests in the wake of George Floyd‘s May 25 death after being arrested by Minneapolis police.

The injured were all adults, the police release said. The victim’s identity will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
