Eric Chan appointed head of new national security office of HKSAR

China's State Council has appointed Eric Chan Kwok-ki as Secretary-General of Hong Kong's new Committee for Safeguarding National Security. He was nominated by Chief Executive Carrie Lam in accordance with the national security law for Hong Kong.
